Born in Poland, raised in Chicago, Balbinka Korzeniowska began her career by writing and directing “A Change of Heart”, a heart felt romantic comedy which was the Audience Winner at the CatDance Festival in 2013, and continued by creating emotionally and culturally engaging pieces such as “My Name is Asia”, a short based on Balbinka’s experience of being bullied as an immigrant and “An Artist and A Son”, a short documentary she shot on 16 MM representing the love an artist holds for his mother. In 2015, she wrote, starred and directed an experimental short, “Awaken”, which was nominated for the 2015 Student Academy Awards© in the Alternative Category. In 2016, she directed four commercials, two with Liquid Advertising, which won the 2017 Agency of the Year for clients like Blizzard Entertainment, Dainese and Funko. She is currently in post production on her documentary about female nomads in Tibet, in pre production on her first feature film and has just completed her most recent project, a #metoo campaign directed, filmed and edited by all females filmmakers. She is currently in development on four pilots which she wrote. Some are funny, some are sad. Mostly, they are all in between because isn’t that life? When not busy doing all things film related, she spends time with her rescue pit bull, Piggle. In 2018, she founded her own production company, Blue Eyes Productions, focused on telling stories of the underdog. She holds an MFA in Directing from UCLA.
