Biography

Born in Poland, raised in Chicago, Balbinka Korzeniowska began her career by writing and directing “A Change of Heart”, a heart felt romantic comedy which won the CatDance Festival in 2014; and continued by creating emotionally and culturally engaging pieces such as “My Name is Asia”, a short based on Balbinka’s experience of being bullied as an immigrant and “An Artist and A Son”, a short documentary she shot on 16 MM representing the love an artist holds for his mother. In 2015, she wrote, starred and directed an experimental short, “Awaken”, which was nominated for the 2015 Student Academy Award© in the Alternative Category. In 2016, she directed four commercials, two with Liquid Advertising, which won the 2017 Agency of the Year. She is currently in post production on her documentary about female nomads in Tibet, in pre production on her first feature and just finished her latest #metoo project. When not busy doing all things film related, she spends time with her rescue pit bull, Piggle and rescue Tibetan terrier, Roscoe Jenkins. She holds an MFA in Directing from UCLA.
