Biography

Born in Poland, raised in Chicago, Balbinka Korzeniowska began her career by writing and directing “A Change of Heart”, a heart felt romantic comedy which won the CatDance Festival in 2014; and continued by creating emotionally and culturally engaging pieces such as “My Name is Asia”, a short based on Balbinka’s experience of being bullied as an immigrant and “An Artist and A Son”, a short documentary she shot on 16 MM representing the love an artist holds for his mother. In 2015, she wrote, starred and directed an experimental short, “Awaken”, which was nominated for the 2015 Student Academy Award© in the Alternative Category. In 2016, she directed two commercials for Dainese and designer Viola Spiechowicz. In 2017, she directed two commercial with Liquid Advertising, which won the Agency of the Year in 2017.

She is currently in post production on her documentary about female nomads in Tibet, has just completed a #MeToo campaign and is in pre production on her first feature film which she is set to produce and direct. When not busy doing all things film related, she spends time with her rescue pit bull, Piggle. She holds an MFA in Directing from UCLA.
